All important club info is posted on Yahoo Groups email list. There is a list for players (critical info, updates, directions etc.) and a list for supporters (news/updates).

Captains: Ken Spinale and Mark Swan, both NSRFC veterans who have been around since our early days, will be leading the team this season. Both guys have been consistent contributors for the club and gone to battle for us time after time. Give them your support by showing up, communicating if you can't make it, and working your ass off to get better and fitter. Congrats, gentlemen.

Coaching change:
First of all. we would be remiss if we didn't thank Des Crowley for his years of dedication, commitment and energy toward this club. He always seemed to be the first at training, never missed a training session, dealt with highs and lows of player availability and various other issues. He also almost single-handedly put together two tours to Ireland  in addition to NSRFC hosting Wanderers RFC in a return match at our home pitch. He was also instrumental in securing jersey sponsorship and always looking for new opportunities for the club such as the rugby wall at O'Brien's.

He's stepping down to focus on non-rugby priorities but we'll surely be hearing from him. We owe a debt of gratitude to Des and each one of us can take an example from his dedication. Cheers!

In 2008, Dan Solomon, will be taking the coaching reigns. Dan's a familiar face as he was our first coach, and is also a former NSRFC women's coach in addition to coaching Charles River and accumulating lots rugby experience, much of which happened before our fullback was born. In any case, Dan has a distinctive coaching style and personality and the club is excited to get his perspective and insight into making our team better in the coming year. Welcome, Dan!

NSRFC welcomes new Executive Board

The 2008 executive committee was elected on November 13, 2007. This includes many returning officers from 2007 and some departures. Liam Brady will assume the role of president with Reade Morrison stepping up to the vice president's role. Jeff West and Adam Braun will continue as match secretary and treasurer, respectively. Old friends but new to the committee are Mark Swan (social) and Ken Spinale (recruiting) and Scott Addison (field). Gus del Puerto will move into the secretary role for 2008 while Frank Chung shifts to sponsorship.

We also wish to thank Matt Thibault for his time spent as field secretary, a job with 100% accountability which he always handled well. The field presented some ridiculous issues during his tenure like sink holes in addition to the normal sewer grates and post assembly challenges. He always got it done and never complained. What will he do with all his spare time? I'm sure Spinale has a punch line here... Cheers.
