Referee's Official Match Report

This was a very physical game. From the onset both teams were playing very hard and it got a little chippy midway through the first half and continued until halftime. North Shore had a kick for points opportunity off a penalty and the ball crossed the upright, but I couldn't tell if it had crossed in front of or behind the post, so I deferred to the touch judges behind the goal and they indicated it was good. Freedom strongly disagreed with that call, and at that point both teams started informing me of every call I should be making. During the half, I told both captains their teams needed to clean it up and to stop with the talking, but it continued into the 2nd half. With about 20 minutes remaining, North Shore #7 Chad Horn made a bad high tackle, but actually did a nice job of releasing it before it was "too dangerous," but I felt I needed to give him a yellow card to try and get things back under control, and did. Once North Shore went down a player, they let up 3 conversions in quick succession and the game was over.
