Our Match Report
A rainy night under the lights on a rugby pitch is exactly where the men from Lynn are most comfortable. Directly out of the gate you knew it was going to be a battle and a battle it was. After what seemed to be in endless amount of scrums and rucks the first whistle blew at 25 minutes in.
Boston had a strong Pack whose signature move was pick and go. The Reds stood strong time and time again as Boston could not advance the ball enough. If I had to wager a guess I would say over 25 scrums in today's match and five times as many in the rucking category. At every mark each one of the 15 Reds did their jobs all night long. Defences were strong on both sides of the ball and took up much of the minutes of this game. Great open field tackles by all of the backs and relentless rucking over the ball continually by all of the forwards. Two scores of the day were both well executed plays with Brockhurst getting on the board first at 30 minutes in and Nicklas driving the nail home with a second try in the 70th minute.
The big duck goes to CJ Palmer for his ever awareness of the play and the ball while controlling the loose.
The Belt goes to Matt OX Silva for dominating the ruck with a game high of four continuous rocks on one phase.
