North Shore defeats Central Maine Stripers, 71-7

In the final spring "friendly", NSRFC recovered from a slow start to beat Central Maine on a great day for rugby.

The home side found the try zone through Chad Horn, Trevor Mazarura, Rich DePiero, Danny Forsythe, and others that escape me on a day where many North Shore characters made contributions.

After an early trade of tries it was pretty much one-sided, with a lot of play in the middle of the field with some big breaks mixed in. Some sin bins were visited by both teams as some of the rucks, etc. got a little messy.

The game featured trademark bursts down the wing from Trevor Maz, textbook tackling from T-Bo, Scott making his usual forays into the opposing end, Chad filling in nicely at center, Danny Forsythe coming in to solidify the pack and coyly taking a quick tap from 25 meters for a score, and Rich doing the same except from much closer..

Another highlight was a quote from a Central Maine player that it was "ghetto rugby". Whatever that means.

Old friend Wes Darwin made an appearance and hopped in for some scrum half action, and it was like he never left. Good luck back in Mobile Froto.
