Guilty Parties: Rob, Scott, Dan, Jesse, Martin, Rich, Tony, Ken, Trev and
Chad.
The location of the tournament is probably the most unique location that one
could imagine playing rugby. The tournament was held in a mostly unheated horse
barn. The field was bout the size of a college basketball court and was covered
in a mixture of sand, dirt, gravel and chopped up rubber. This surface, while
being very soft to land on, had the unique property of being soft but very
abrasive. The end result being deep would on elbows and knees.....good times
cleaning them out.
1st game.
NSRFC v UNH 2
4-1 victory for North Shore. This being our first game we had to adjust our play
to a confined space that pretty much negated our speed advantage. We scored
first and only gave up one score in a very quick game.
Highlights included Kenny play a third of the game without a mouth guard (either
he's heroic or stupid, you decide) and Dan getting hit and having both of his
contacts pop out. Rich and his three stiff arms in a row.
Try's
Martin, Jesse, Tony and Scott
2nd Game
NSRFC v Giggity Giggity 1 (UMaine?)
7-0
Total blowout. NSRFC beat a physical imposing and well disciplined team in a
rout that came mostly from North Shores fitness. Giggity (lame ass
name...mushroom tattoos at least is funny) played even with us for most of the
first half but just could not keep up with the speed and endurance. Rob went
wild this game for three try's. Tony and Ken ate up the larger props on the
opposition and both Scott and Jesse did excellent work hooking.
Highlights: Chad stretching out to catch a pass and streak in for a score.
Trevor almost scoring on one of his patented end arounds.
Try's Rob (3), Trev, Chad, Martin (and I don't remember the last one)
Nighttime highlights via Ken, Tony, Rich and Jesse.
Ken macking on the "cougars"
Jesse and Rich and helping themselves to some "free" wine.
Tony's attempt at a B&E....and personal tour (and release) of the interior of
the Portsmouth PD's cruiser.
Rich talking shit to Charles River................."we'll try to fit you in"
2nd Day
NSRFC v. UNH 1
1-2
Hard fought game that NSRFC jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first half on a
score from Scott. UNH tied it up with a score midway through the second half and
gained a lucky break when the Ref called a very objectionable out of bounds call
on Trevor as he had an open kick and chase down the side. (actually it was
bullshit, but I'm biased....blind bastard). Sudden death overtime was or game to
lose as we drove UNH to there own five meter line and failed to convert. Give
credit to UNH for driving down the field and scoring.

UNH went on the win the tournament.
Excellent time. Thanks to Vudu, Gus and Kevin for making the trip and supporting
the team.
